Resources for Military Families

FLVS supports military families by offering flexible, location-independent online education through its Flex and Full Time programs, which provide continuity for mobile families. As a Purple Star District, FLVS also ensures military-connected students receive support for educational transitions and offers flexibility for state assessments to be taken outside of Florida.

Additionally, military students are encouraged to engage with their peers and make friends beyond the classroom through clubs, field trips, and meet ups across the state.

  • Donate to Veteran Causes: Contribute to charities that provide assistance to veterans and their families.
  • Display the Flag: Fly the U.S. flag to honor veterans and show your patriotic spirit.
  • Every year FLVS participates in Letters to Heroes, thanking veterans for their service. Letters are distributed to Veterans via Southeast Florida Honor Flight

Student-led Transition Program

The student-led transition program supports new military students and their families as they transition into our school. Student leaders will host online meet and greet sessions, introduce new students to our platforms like FOCUS, Educator, and Zoom, and showcase available resources. The program will help new military students connect with peers who share similar experiences, fostering a sense of belonging. Additionally, they’ll be a valuable resource, answering questions and offering guidance as they navigate the virtual school environment. This program also helps new students acclimate to a new school while facilitating connections.
